Dear Mission Partners,
Welcome to this website, where you can discover the stages of the strategic planning journey we have taken as GSIF with an intention to co-create our future for the effectiveness of Mission.
The change GSIF wants to achieve in the future, has urged us to consistently journey together in preparing this new cycle of strategic planning. We began the process with participation at a global level, guiding the design and articulating long-term outcomes.
Members of the new CLT, GSIF Board, Management and staff had the opportunity to meet in person to learn more on the Theory of Change so as to approach and imagine the future of the Mission together. At the same time, virtual gatherings at regional levels involved mission partners from all countries sharing and discussing their experiences and the emerging priorities for GSIF in light of the Calls to Action and the Congregation’s vision for change.
In early September a large representation of mission partners from GSIF, GSIF Board, CLT, Circle Coordinators, MDOs, Congregational Offices and other key areas continued the process of co-designing the pathways and outcomes which we see as our ‘Horizons’ for the next five years. We all appreciate the openness, the sense of unity and the profound sharing during the intense and fruitful sessions of the workshops and gatherings held in an environment of respect, trust and harmony. We are inspired by our common passion and commitment to Mission.
Our wish is that with the new strategic plan, GSIF will strengthen its role within the Congregation and ‘act as one’ with all mission partners. Individually and collectively, we feel impelled to respond with zeal and compassion to the Calls to Action.

More than 60 people from 24 countries on 5 continents, including Unit leaders and representatives of GS partners, participated in the workshop Co-creating a new future – GSIF new strategic planning, held in Rome from 7 to 9 September.
The participants gathered to reflect and co-design – using the Theory of Change methodology – the GSIF’s new strategic planning, aligned with the Congregation’s Calls to Action. The workshop represented a key step of the process that started in early 2022 with the strategic plan evaluation. The process has continued through input collection, articulation of 4 Horizons and long-term outcomes, and stakeholder mapping, in consultation with partners from the grassroots and other Congregational offices.
Thanks to the engaging and constructive contribution of each participant, grounded on deep listening, generative conversation, and creative sharing, the backward mapping of the Horizons and Long-term outcomes began to identify which changes will be required to cause the desired change that GSIF wants to achieve in the next 6 years.
